I Ran It!
Somewhere in all these races and practice runs I tore a tendon. I didn’t quit running until April 2012. There’s about 4 races that aren’t listed here. I walked a nice, flat half-marathon in January 2012 and finished 3 minutes faster the one that I ran/walked in the hills of North Georgia in November 2011.
I quit running in April because of ankle pain. I didn’t see a doctor until October and only because it was starting to interfere with dance. An MRI showed a torn Peroneous Brevis tendon. I didn’t have surgery but wore an air cast for about 8 weeks to calm down all the inflamed tissues around the area. It’s much better now but on the advice of my orthopedist I will never run again. Which is fine because as you can clearly see by the times here, I wasn’t that fast anyway!
