22 Pounds & 2 Dress Sizes
Posted December 24, 2013on:
We’ve only a week left in 2013 and it’s time for everyone to start their “year in review” posts. My health year has been good. I got my thyroid back under control. I found out I was taking my meds all wrong. I finally got enough practice with wheat free under my belt that it’s pretty easy for me now. Kicking the sugar and the diet soda are taking a bit more time. Those are things I’ll continue to work on in 2014.
I can’t recommend the following books enough:
Wheat Belly by Dr William Davis
Cholesterol Clarity by Jimmy Moore & Dr. Eric Westman
Grain Brain by Dr. David Perlmutter

I love the science. And the science that is coming to light after years of research is just not what we were led to believe. The doctors don’t want to believe it and I’m having a bit of a struggle there but I think it will work out.
After cutting out the wheat, limiting the carbs, and increasing plant fats I’ve lost 22 pounds. I can’t tell you when it’s been so easy. And while giving up wheat and wheat products has had it’s on struggles it really is easy to eat like this. I don’t want to offend anyone when I say it was easy. It’s taken me nearly 2 years to be wheat free and I have had a skinny slice of pizza a time or two without too much noticeable effect. It’s been easy in that I haven’t really been hungry or felt deprived. Who can feel deprived when they can eat bacon, whole eggs, and good sharp cheddar cheese? Who can say it’s hard when they can toss a half stick butter or whipping cream in their coffee? And still lose 22 pounds AND change their cholesterol profiles for the better?
